I intentionally chose a slate blue background for this textured floral vase. I wanted the textures to be the star of the piece, rather than any color contrast. Sometimes, in our lives, we get stuck in the monotony. We get up, take the kids to school, fold laundry, tidy toys, pick the kids up, make dinner, go to bed, rinse and repeat. It can be hard to get excited about the same things over and over again. I created this piece as a reminder, to look at life in its many facets and try to search out beauty and joy. As this painting hangs in your home, I hope you walk by it and notice a new petal, or the way your living room walls reflect the light. I hope that each time you do, its a reminder to do the same in your life.
This piece was created on an upcycled vintage frame. As such, the painting and frame are inseparable.
